Microsoft's "World Wide Telescope"

You may be interested in a new program from Microsoft, completely free, aimed at all your budding astronomers; it's "World Wide Telescope" and it's quite fantastic. It needs a bit of power to run it but well worth the effort. It's available at http://www.worldwidetelescope.org ; try it at home!!

Dell Colour Laser Printers

I am currently in the process of setting all the Dell colour Laser Printers so that they print the name of the person who prints a document in the bottom right hand corner of the page. This is so small it should cause no problems whatsoever, however (staff be warned) we will now be able to tell who is printing stuff out and not collecting it and who the principle printer users are.

Resetting Printers

Problem usually shows itself as a document in the queue that will NOT go away or print!!

There should be an icon on the Server desktop titled "Fix Printers" (you will need to log on to the server as administrator) if not, Start - programs - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Services and Applications - Services and scroll down to "Print Spooler" right click and select "Sto...

Recovery from loss of Network (Radio or Otherwise)

It's possible in a number of scenarios, such as :

Server Down
Network Cable unplugged
Radio disrupted (WAP unplugged from network, radio button pressed on laptops etc.)
